The first ascent of the route "Giannis Kinatidis" (VII-, 430m) was realized on 22/7/2004 by G. Kastanidis - G. Aliferis, who dedicated this climb to the memory of Giannis Kinatidis, who lost his life, at an early age, at the northern face of Kusum Kanguru, on 13/5/2004. The opening up of the route had started on 17/7/2001, by G. Kastanidis - G. Tsiatsiaris - D. Doris.
In spite of the fact that the line is located at Mytikas, the quality of the rock is excellent. The necessary equipment for climbing this route is a set of nuts and a set of friends. For the 2nd and the 3rd pitch only quickdraws are required.
All the belays of the route are equipped with bolts. Escape is possible from all the belays, up to the 6th one. Precisely, escaping from the 6th belay requires two abseils of 40m and 50m respectively, down to the gully of Strivada. Escaping after the 6th pitch might be a problem. From the summit, one can return to the plateau by following the gully of Mytikas.
N. Tsavdaris - M. Styllas were the first to repeat the route, on 24/7/2004, just two days after the first ascent was realized.
