Krem karamele

Mixed, Traditional

The first ascent of the route "Krem karamele" (III+ 3+ M4, 300m) was realized on 2/5/1988 by D. Sotirakis - N. Karavelas - D. Derdelakos.

The line could be characterized as the ice climb version of the route "Habib", since they have many pitches in common.

It is a hard and dangerous route, characterized by continuous difficulty, rare to be found in good conditions, and has constituted for many years the most difficult choice of the Hellenic mountains during winter. The season during which this route may be found in good conditions is between the beginning of Mars and until the end of April.

In order to climb the route pitons, nuts, friends, ice screws and pickets are required.

The first repetition of the route was realized on 25/3/1995 by D. Kallos - K. Siozos, in 12h. The maximum difficulty that they came up against was of IV+ and the maximum inclination of the frozen snow up to 80°.
